Statistics: Russia’s CPI at 0.2% in Apr 13–Mon, 7.9% from Jan 1
MOSCOW, Apr 22 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation index (CPI) increased to 0.2% between April 13 and Monday and reached 7.9% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement Wednesday.
Since the start of April, consumer prices grew 0.5%.
Tea prices went up 0.8% while prices for canned meat, sausages, margarine, cookies and chocolate sweets went up 0.4–0.5%.
But eggs became 0.8% cheaper, while prices for cheese, sugar and buckwheat fell 0.6% and poultry, butter, rice and millet went down 0.1-0.3%.
Prices for green cabbage rose 2.5%, for carrot, onion and tomatoes went up 1.5-1.8%, while cucumbers prices decreased 2.9% and potato and apples became 0.5% and 0.3% cheaper, respectively.
Gasoline prices remained flat, while diesel fuel prices rose by 0.1%.
In 2014, consumer prices in Russia grew 11.4%.
The Economic Development Ministry’s official forecast for 2015 inflation is 12.2%, while the central bank projects inflation at 12–14%.
